I'd have to say this is my favorite iMac of all time. This is a G4 based iMac with the AltiVec Velocity Engine. I think this was discontinued around 2003 but it can still run OS X Leopard like a champ. 17" monitor with a white case and chromed out stainless steel neck. This one has a very quiet internal fan and it's still quiet to this day. I'd challenge anyone to find a 2003 windows machine that can run Vista or Windows 7. It's amazing to me that this computer can run the current version of OS X and it's not that slow. For me, this has more style and a cooler look than the new all in ones but in terms of what you get, the new all in ones are of course, a better buy.
As most people know Susan and I spent several years in Oregon. It's a state of amazing beauty and holds a special place in our lives. Oregon is celebrating it's 150th Birthday as a state. Official 150th sesquicentennial Website
My friend Aaron sent me an email with the Oregon State Song. I'll repost here:
"Land of the Empire Builders, Land of the Golden West; Conquered and held by free men, Fairest and the best. On-ward and upward ever, Forward and on, and on; Hail to thee, Land of the Heroes, My Oregon. Land of the rose and sunshine, Land of the summer's breeze; Laden with health and vigor, Fresh from the western seas. Blest by the blood of martyrs, Land of the setting sun; Hail to thee, Land of Promise, My Oregon."
As we talked via email you can see how much our country has changed. Can you even imagine writing a song today and including "empire builders" "Conquered" or "Blest with the blood of martyrs"? You'd be crazy to write such a song because you'd be attacked as a nut. I like the song, I love the state of Oregon and miss living there very much.
I love using MarsEdit to update my personal blog. Great software made by this company: Red Sweater Software New update today to an already great product. I love using software written by people that strive to fix all bugs and create the best application they can. Open Source software is nice but unless it's run by a very organized and ambitious group, it doesn't get updated enough to get rid of annoying bugs you often find. I do use a lot of open source stuff but paid software from good companies works so much better IMO. My favorite open source software would have to be Quicksilver: BlackTree If you aren't using Quicksilver on your mac, you should be. If you aren't using a mac, you should be. There's no reason for the average person to use a windows computer at home.
President Obama's economic recovery package will actually hurt the economy more in the long run than if he were to do nothing, the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said Wednesday.
That seems pretty damning to me.
Very interesting chart that shows your current recession tracking the same path as the '81-82 recession.
Nancy Killefer withdrew her nomination Tuesday to become the Obama administration's chief performance officer, citing unspecified problems with District of Columbia unemployment tax.
